Load the PAC on POCA devices

The Media & Devices screen is one path where library content is distributed to the People: cards inserted now, Android devices on the cable, and every PAC registered to the People. Cultural content is always one shared collection, while each device receives a small personal layer on top for user configurations.

Sync a microSD card

1. Insert the card. It appears under Inserted now within a few seconds while noting what is on it, for example PAC card: poca/ structure verified or No PAC on this card.
2. Tap the dark round Sync icon button on the card's row. One tap writes everything immediately, the same content a device would receive over the air.
3. Wait for the confirmation. It tells you how many files were written and removed.

Each sync also marks your People's name onto the card itself. The POCA user experience is fully tailored to the cultural identity of your nation and tribe set by the PAC project. The Folder icon button next to the Sync icon button opens the card to inspect content directly. Your most recent sync is noted at the bottom of the screen.

Sync an Android device over USB

1. Plug the Android device in with a USB cable. A Connected devices section appears, listing it by model.
2. If the row says authorize on the device, pick up the device and approve the connection there first.
3. Tap the Sync icon button on its row. The full collection is written straight onto the device's card over the cable, no internet and no server round trip. The confirmation tells you how many files now sit on the device.

Maintain the device registry

Under Registered devices you see every device the People know about, each with a status chip: Registered, Not registered, Wipe pending, or Wiped. Registration comes first, and each member with a POCA device should be accessible here for convenience and safety (see Pixli).

1. To bring a new device in, tap the ticket button (New enrollment codes). You get three codes, each good for 24 hours. Hand one to the person setting up the device.
2. To prepare a device ahead of time, tap the + button (New device profile).
3. Use the refresh button (Refresh from the People server) any time to see the latest registry.

Set up a device's personal profile

Tap the pencil on any row (Edit device config) to open the profile editor.

1. Give it a Profile name, like "Citlali's PAC".
2. Fill in the Owner name. Some apps greet the user as an added personal touch.
3. Choose a Role (child, adult, or elder) and, if you like, the Birth date. The calendar app uses it to find the person's day sign.
4. If the device is already registered, pick it under Linked OTA device. Otherwise choose Not linked (flash in person only).
5. Under Apps: tap to cycle inherit / on / off, tap an app's pill to change it just for this device. Most devices simply inherit the People default; a solid pill means forced on, a struck-through one means forced off.
6. Tap Save profile.

For a registered device, tap the radio button (Publish this device's config over the air) to send the profile out. The change is stamped with your name as the steward who set it, and the device picks it up on its next check-in.

Retire a device

When a device leaves the People (lost, stolen, or its holder has moved on), tap the shield button on its row and confirm De-register. The next time that device reaches the internet, all personal and cultural content (on the PAC) is erased, without warning the holder first. Until the device has seen the order, its status reads Wipe pending and you can still tap Cancel the pending wipe to restore it.

What the device shows

After a sync, the device holds the People's full collection plus a personal profile: apps greet the owner by name, the day-sign calendar knows their birth date, and only the apps you enabled appear. A synced card behaves the same the moment it is inserted.
